EAST PALO ALTO RazorHawks 

EPA Razorhawks is a comprehensive K–12 rugby program proudly representing East Palo Alto and nearby communities. The club is dedicated to bringing the excitement, fun, and teamwork of rugby to kids aged 5–18 in a safe, friendly, and nurturing environment. 

We are proud of our reputation for:

• experienced coaches who have played rugby at the national and international level and coached athletes from kindergarten through university

• a vibrant community that includes both families who love rugby and families who are new to rugby

• a top-tier training facility, Rich May Field at 1425 Bay Road in East Palo Alto, which was finished in 2015 with our rugby club as a primary user

• a comprehensive developmental program that takes players from their first catch/pass to confident and elegant gameplay

Club History

The Peninsula Youth Rugby Football Club was established in 1981 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and played as the Seahawks until our 2015 merger with the East Palo Alto Razorbacks Youth Rugby program. We chose the combined name RazorHawks to honor the traditions of its two founding teams. In the fall of 2021, we made the "H" lowercase and merged with high-school Menlo-Atherton Rugby Club to establish the EPA Peninsula Rugby Football Club, known as the EPA Razorhawks.

East Palo Alto has long been known as a town with deep rugby roots. Its men's club (including our coaches Viliami "Pila" Pongi and Onesi "Nesi" Havea) won a national championship in 2009; local players like Folau Niua and Jack Hallaio have represented the United States in international competition; and our home field Rich May Memorial Field anchors a thriving mid-Peninsula rugby community.
